This “About Us” section is really to say that ivnews.INFO is all about you, the visitor and reader. We want you to make ivnews.INFO your first choice for news and information in the Imperial Valley because we have a commitment to fully informing, enabling, educating and entertaining you.
We are launching ivnews.INFO initially as an aggregator of local, national and international news sources that report stories on the Imperial Valley and its people — in all of its facets — and to bring it to you all in one website.
As we progress, though, we will be asking folks from Salton City to Calexico to Ocotillo and to Winterhaven to become citizen journalists to help make ivnews.INFO a fully home-grown news organization for the 21st century — your news organization.
For citizens of the Valley and those who are visiting or just passing through, ivnews.INFO is a one-stop destination for anything Imperial Valley and to highlight the economic, cultural and environmental assets of our region. Besides daily news events, we will offer every kind of information pertinent to living, working and passing the time here. And if you can’t find the answer to your question on these pages, then we will find it for you — just ask us.

Gina is an Imperial Valley native with more than 30 years experience as an award-winning newspaper and broadcast journalist. She recently earned her graduate M.S. degree in new media journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
Gina’s goal for ivnews.INFO is to present accurate, clear, timely and comprehensive news coverage of the Valley and its people, and beyond.

Marissa Wells, Web Developer
Marissa was a dean’s scholar in the new media graduate program at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and a cum laude undergraduate in information management and technology studies at SU.
Her work includes design and development for Efinancial, LLC. web campaigns, and developing content and client management systems for SU and Nibble Information Systems, Inc.
Marissa’s goal is to create a user-friendly, interactive experience for visitors to ivnews.INFO.
