Retired SDSU employee and Mexicali biker club leader

Alvino Hernandez, 70, of Calexico passed away Wednesday, April 22 at Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa.

He was born March 2, 1939 in Houston, TX. Al worked for San Diego State for 27 years. Following his retirement, Al was the founder and dedicated president of his motorcycle club, Los Jinetes Bikers, in Mexicali, MX.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary in Calexico. Mass will commence at 9 a.m., Wednesday, April 29 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Calexico with Father Gerardo Fernandez officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Al is survived by his sons, Manuel Hernandez (Isabel), Felipe Hernandez (Paty), Daniel Hernandez (Alicia), and Mario Hernandez (Anyssa); daughter, Beatriz H. Mejia (Henry) and their mother, Manuela Hernandez; brothers, Refugio Hernandez, Gregorio Villaseñor, and Juan Ismael Villaseñor, all of Mexicali, MX; sister, Hermilia V. Prieto of Fresno, CA and Francisca Villseñor of Chicago; 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He will be missed by everyone who loved him.
